Victorian
The Victorian period is from 1837 to 1901 and was characterised by a reaction to the classical style. The Victorians took immense pride in their homes and saw them as a reflection of status. It was a time of imitation and a return to traditional british style with elaborate architectural design and sumptuous colourful decoration which was considered to enhance the importance of a room.
